Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering (preferably in energy/ mechanical)
- Experience: minimum 2 years with experience in HVAC design
- Strong fundamentals on relevant subjects like heat transfer, thermodynamics
- Basic understanding of building physics and HVAC system is essential
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Project or equivalent
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and conducting baseline surveys to evaluate operational energy used in buildings in Nepal
- Assist in conducting baseline survey and stakeholder consultations
- Assist in developing manuals / guidelines, case studies etc. for energy efficient building design, resource-efficient materials etc.
- Assist in organizing design charrettes (or 3-4 day intensive design workshops) through support in design of building HVAC and other services
- Assist in developing and organizing training program on efficient HVAC strategies in buildings for different building sector stakeholders
- Participate in on-site monitoring and carry out performance monitoring of buildings
- Assist in market assessment of alternative building materials for EE building design
- Assist in design, development and installation of renewable energy technologies to enhance building performance
- Support in promotion and dissemination of energy efficient building designs in partner municipalities
- Represent project at conferences, round-tables, committees or working groups
- Assist in preparing information leaflets/brochures and other marketing materials for awareness building
- Perform other functions as required and directed by the Senior Architect
